How is Rajasthan Electricity Bill Calculated?
The Rajasthan Electricity Regulatory Commission (RERC) specifies domestic tariff slabs for state discoms. For example, if a household in Jaipur, Jodhpur, Kota, Udaipur, or Bikaner consumes 250 units with a 1 kW sanctioned load (without state subsidy):
- First 50 units @ ₹4.75 = ₹237.50
- Next 100 units (51 to 150) @ ₹6.50 = ₹650.00
- Remaining 100 units (151 to 250) @ ₹7.35 = ₹735.00
- Total Energy Charges: ₹1,622.50
- Fixed Demand Charges: 1 kW × ₹230 = ₹230.00
- Electricity Duty (15%): (₹1,622.50 + ₹230) × 15% = ₹277.88
- Urban Cess & Regulatory Charges: ₹25.00
- Estimated Total Monthly Bill: ₹2,155.38 (Approx ₹2,155)
