How is Assam Electricity Bill Calculated?
Assam Electricity Regulatory Commission (AERC) prescribes slab rates for domestic LT consumers. For example, if a consumer in Guwahati, Silchar, Dibrugarh, or Jorhat consumes 200 units in a month with a 1 kW connection:
- First 120 units @ ₹5.40 = ₹648.00
- Remaining 80 units (121 to 200) @ ₹6.65 = ₹532.00
- Total Energy Charges: ₹1,180.00
- Fixed Demand Charges: 1 kW × ₹75 = ₹75.00
- Electricity Duty (5%): (₹1,180 + ₹75) × 5% = ₹62.75
- FPPPA & Regulatory Surcharges: ₹30.00
- Estimated Total Monthly Bill: ₹1,347.75 (Approx ₹1,348)
